About Outlaw
Outlaw Performance Engineering is Townsend's performance shop in Tabor City, NC. Certified at Horry Georgetown Technical College and trained at SAM Tech in Houston, Texas, he specializes in performance tuning, custom wheels and performance modifications.
The Story
My passion for performance vehicles started long before it became my career. I grew up in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, always wanting to understand what makes a car work and what makes it fast.
I attended the Academy for the Arts, Science & Technology in Myrtle Beach, then continued my automotive education at Horry Georgetown Technical College in Conway, where I earned my certification and built a strong foundation in automotive technology.
I wanted to go beyond traditional repair and further into the performance and engineering side, so I trained at the School of Automotive Machinists & Technology in Houston, Texas. That advanced, hands on training focused on the technical and engineering principles behind high performance vehicles.
Today that education, experience and lifelong passion come together in my own shop. Whether you want more power, better performance, the right wheel setup or a complete transformation, my goal is simple: knowledgeable, detail driven work, with every car built the right way.

Local Roots
Townsend grew up in North Myrtle Beach and trained in Conway, so this coast is home. The shop in Tabor City, NC serves drivers from Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Wilmington and across the Carolinas, with remote tuning for everyone farther out.
